Use the free Basic Calculator on ToolVexa for everyday maths. Add, subtract, multiply, divide and work with percentages, either by tapping the keypad or by typing a calculation directly.
How to Use
Tap the keypad buttons, or type into the calculation box, then press the equals button or Calculate. Use C to clear the calculation and start again. The result appears in the box below the button.
Formula in Plain Words
Multiplication and division are worked out before addition and subtraction, which is the usual order of operations. A percentage sign turns the number before it into a hundredth, so 10% means 0.10.
Worked Example
For 2+3×4, the multiplication comes first, so 3×4 is 12, and 2+12 is 14. For a percentage, 200×10% is 200×0.10, which is 20.
FAQs
Does it follow the correct order of operations?
Yes. Multiplication and division are calculated before addition and subtraction, so 2+3×4 gives 14, not 20.
How does the percentage button work?
It divides the number before it by 100, so 200×10% is 20, and 50% on its own is 0.5.
Can I type a calculation instead of tapping?
Yes. Type numbers and the symbols + – * / and % into the calculation box, then press Calculate.
