Use the free Child Height Calculator on ToolVexa to estimate a child’s adult height from the parents’ heights using the mid-parental height method.
How to Use
Enter the father’s height and the mother’s height in centimetres, choose the child’s sex, then press Calculate. The result is an estimated adult height, not a guarantee.
Formula in Plain Words
For a boy, add the father’s height and the mother’s height, add 13 cm, then divide by 2. For a girl, add the parents’ heights, subtract 13 cm, then divide by 2.
Worked Example
For a father of 180 cm and a mother of 165 cm, the estimated adult height is 179.0 cm for a boy and 166.0 cm for a girl.
FAQs
Is this a prediction?
No. It is an estimate based on parents’ heights. Nutrition, health and other factors also affect final height.
Why is 13 cm added or subtracted?
On average, adult men are taller than adult women, so the mid-parental method adjusts by 13 cm for sex.
Can I use inches instead?
Convert inches to centimetres first by multiplying by 2.54, then enter the result here.
