Use the free Accurate Height Calculator for Kids on ToolVexa to estimate a child’s predicted adult height from the parents’ heights. Enter the father’s height and the mother’s height, choose boy or girl, press Calculate, and the estimate appears straight away.
How to Use
Enter both parents’ heights in centimetres and choose whether the child is a boy or a girl. Press Calculate to see the predicted adult height.
Formula in Plain Words
This uses the mid-parental height method. Add the two parents’ heights together, then add 13 centimetres for a boy or subtract 13 centimetres for a girl, and divide by two.
Worked Example
For a father of 180 cm and a mother of 165 cm, a boy’s predicted adult height is (180 + 165 + 13) / 2 = 179.0 cm. Most children grow to within about 8 cm of this estimate.
FAQs
Is this a medical prediction? No. It is a simple estimate for interest and planning only.
Can nutrition or illness change it? Yes. Growth is affected by nutrition, health and genetics, so the real height may differ.
What if I only know one parent’s height? The method needs both heights, so use the best estimates you have and treat the result as rough.
