Use the free Age Difference Calculator on ToolVexa to find the exact calendar difference between two dates of birth in years, months and days.
How to Use
Enter the first date of birth and the second date of birth, in any order, then press Calculate. The result gives the difference in whole years, months and days.
Formula in Plain Words
Subtract the earlier date from the later date. If the day of the later date is smaller, borrow the days in the previous month and reduce the month count by one. If the month count is then negative, borrow 12 months and reduce the year count by one.
Worked Example
For 15 January 1990 and 20 June 1995, the age difference is 5 years, 5 months, 5 days.
FAQs
Does the order of the dates matter?
No. The calculator uses the earlier date as the starting point, so you can enter the dates in either order.
Is this the same as a simple year subtraction?
Not quite. A simple year subtraction ignores months and days, while this result gives the full calendar difference.
Does it count leap years?
Yes, because it works from real calendar dates, including the extra day in leap years.
