Use the free Investment Growth Calculator on ToolVexa to estimate how a starting amount and regular annual contributions could grow over time at an assumed annual return.
How to Use
Enter your starting amount, the amount you plan to add each year, the assumed annual return as a percentage, and the number of years. Then press Calculate. The result shows the estimated future value and how much the starting amount alone would grow to.
Formula in Plain Words
The starting amount grows by compound interest: starting amount multiplied by (1 plus the annual return) to the power of the number of years. Annual contributions grow in the same way, using the future value of a regular yearly payment. If the return is zero, the total is simply the starting amount plus all contributions.
Worked Example
For a starting amount of $10,000, an annual contribution of $1,000, an annual return of 5%, and 10 years, the starting amount grows to $16,288.95 and the estimated future value is $28,866.84.
FAQs
Do the annual contributions grow too?
Yes. Each contribution is assumed to earn the annual return in the years after it is added, so later contributions grow less than earlier ones.
What happens if the return is 0%?
With no return, the total is the starting amount plus the annual contribution multiplied by the number of years.
Is this result a prediction?
No. It is an estimate based on the return you enter. Real investment returns vary from year to year and can go up or down.
