Use the free Percentage Calculator on ToolVexa for two common percentage questions. Work out what a percentage of a number is, or find what percentage one number is of another.
How to Use
Choose the calculation type, enter the two numbers, then press Calculate. The result appears in the box below the button, with the calculation shown in words.
Formula in Plain Words
To find a percentage of a number, multiply the percentage by the number and divide by 100. To find what percentage one number is of another, divide the first number by the second and multiply by 100.
Worked Example
20% of 200 is 20 times 200 divided by 100, which is 40. In the other direction, 50 divided by 200 times 100 is 25, so 50 is 25% of 200.
FAQs
What is the difference between the two modes?
The first mode gives an amount, such as 40. The second mode gives a percentage, such as 25%.
Can I use decimals?
Yes. You can enter decimal numbers, and the percentage result is shown to two decimal places.
Why does the second mode need a non-zero second number?
Because the calculation divides by the second number, and division by zero does not give a meaningful result.
