Use the free Accurate BMR Calculator on ToolVexa to estimate how many calories your body burns at rest each day. Enter your weight, height, age and sex, press Calculate, and the estimate appears straight away.
How to Use
Enter your weight in kilograms, your height in centimetres and your age in years, then choose male or female. Press Calculate to see your estimated basal metabolic rate.
Formula in Plain Words
This uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation. It multiplies weight by 10, adds height multiplied by 6.25, subtracts age multiplied by 5, then adds 5 for men or subtracts 161 for women.
Worked Example
For a man of 80 kg, 180 cm and 30 years, the calculation is 800 + 1,125 – 150 + 5 = 1,780 kcal per day at rest. Daily activity adds to this amount.
FAQs
Is BMR the same as daily calorie needs? No. BMR is the rest-only figure; total daily needs are higher once activity is included.
Why does sex change the result? On average, body composition differs by sex, and the equation adjusts for that.
Is this a medical result? No. It is a planning estimate, not medical advice.
