Use the free ACC Fuel Calculator on ToolVexa to work out how much fuel a race needs. Enter the number of laps, fuel used per lap, and a safety margin, and the calculator adds the margin to the base fuel.
How to Use
Enter the laps, the fuel used per lap in litres, and the safety margin as a percentage, then press Calculate.
Formula in Plain Words
Multiply laps by fuel per lap to get the base fuel. Multiply the base fuel by one plus the safety margin as a decimal to get the total fuel.
Worked Example
With 20 laps, 2.5 litres per lap and a 5% safety margin, the base fuel is 50.00 litres, and the total is 52.50 litres.
FAQs
What is the safety margin for?
It adds a buffer for variation in fuel use, so you do not plan to run out exactly at the finish.
Can I use a 0% margin?
Yes. With a 0% margin, the total equals the base fuel.
Is this for a specific racing game?
No. It is a general fuel planning calculation for any race where you know laps and fuel per lap.
