Use the free Carbon Footprint Calculator on ToolVexa to get a simple yearly estimate of carbon dioxide from driving, electricity and flights.
How to Use
Enter your car miles and fuel economy, your yearly electricity use and how many flights you take, then press Calculate.
Formula in Plain Words
Driving emissions are miles divided by miles per gallon times 8.887 kg of CO2 per gallon. Electricity adds 0.4 kg per kWh, and each flight adds 250 kg. The total is shown in kilograms and tonnes.
Worked Example
For 12,000 miles at 30 miles per gallon, 4,000 kWh and 2 flights, the result is 5,654.8 kg, or 5.7 tonnes per year.
FAQs
Is this exact?
No. It uses simple average factors, so it is an estimate, not a measured footprint.
Does it include heating or food?
No. This version covers driving, electricity and flights only.
Can I lower the result?
Driving less, using less electricity or flying less will lower the estimate, but this tool does not give personal advice.
